Versatile outfielder Josh Reddick is the 2011 winner of the Harry Agganis Award as Red Sox Rookie of the Year, joining a list that includes recent Boston Red Sox standouts such as Daniel Bard, Jacoby Ellsbury, Dustin Pedroia and Jonathan Papelbon. The award was voted on by members of the Boston Chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America. The first honoree of the award was Ted Williams. Reddick, who hit .280 with seven home runs and 28 RBI in 2011, is the second straight outfielder to capture the Agganis Award. Ryan Kalish was the winner in 2010. Reddick will be among the head table guests at the chapter's 73rd annual dinner at 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the Westin Copley Hotel in Boston. |
